Background
This is Patron’s first ever distilled-to-proof spirit. It is made with carefully selected agaves from their long-time agave grower partners, with the characteristic Patron-style jima that shaves off more of the penca than is typical in tequila production. Agaves are cooked in brick ovens for 79 hours and crushed with a mechanical tahona. It is fermented with the fibers and double distilled to proof in small copper pot stills. The method and proof was chosen to produce a spirit that retains maximum agave character.
