The Santa Pedrera really jumps out of the glass into your nose with refreshing notes of lemongrass and that classic balance of rich agave and minerals. It says “Drink me Alice!”

Bursting with rich roast agave and sea salt. It has all the classic Oaxacan espadin character. If you want to introduce someone to mezcal this is your bottle. If you want to drink something every night, this is your bottle. If you want to break someone of the habit of describing mezcal as “tequila’s smoky cousin,” this is your bottle.

Method / Background Notes

Rompedor de Tristezas is their motto, literally “breaker of sorrows” which is pretty badass and should really have a place on a leather jacket. How many people already have it as a tattoo?

Santa Pedrera is produced at the same palenque by the same Maestro Mezcalero, Carino Ramirez, as Espíritu Lauro.

Max co-founded Mezcalistas with Susan way back in 2012. Before that he was a journalist at Salon.com and The San Francisco Chronicle.
