Whether you’re looking for the closest place to drink mezcal, the best mezcal cocktail in town, or a restaurant where you can kick back with a decent mezcal, we’ve got you. - Bosforo – Lauded as one of the best mezcal bars in Mexico City, Bosforo has a good selection, knolwedgeable staff, and a pleasantly dark and slightly gritty ambiance.
- La Botica – A Condesa mezcaleria that boasts more than 50 expressions.
- Conejo en la Luna – Located in the Narvarte neighborhood, this mezcaleria has a decent list of destilados.
- La Clandestina – A Condesa mezcaleria with a “back-room” ambiance and significant selection of house mezcals that showcase different varietals, as well as mezcal cocktails.
- Gusto Historico – A mezcal tasting bar inside Mercado de San Juan.
- Matuche – This Roma mezcaleria focuses on sourcing from small mezcal brands.
- Salon de Agave – A tasting room that’s by appointment only. Every month is dedicated to one agave species.
- Tlecan – Managed by Eli Martinez, this is the only mezcaleria on the 50 Best Bars list. It has a sleek, urban look and features a curated menu with representations from almost every mezcal region.

- Baltra Bar – A swanky Condesa cocktail bar with a significant selection of agave spirits.
- Cafe de Nadie – In the mood for a fat-washed mezcal cocktail infused with kale? Carmen Uribe, a former Pujol chef, co-founded this Roma bar, which features a thoughtful seasonal cocktail menu, DJs, and a selection of Mexican Craft spirits
- Hanky Panky Cocktail Bar – A famous speakeasy that has been featured on the 50 Best Bars List.
- Limantour (Polanco) – A globally famous cocktail bar, Limantour is worth a visit. It has locations in Roma and Condesa.
- Maison Artemisia – A stylish cocktail bar with a selection of destilados.
- Rayo – A hip Roma cocktail bar with a solid list of destilados.
- Xaman Bar – Features DJs, a party vibe, and mezcal cocktails.
CDMX restaurants with solid mezcal menus
- Los Danzantes – This Coyoacán restaurant and bar made it into the top 250 in Mexico’s Michellin guide. In addition to their house mezcals, they have solid selections of mezcal, tequila, and other destilados, including bacanora, raicilla, pox, and charanda.
- La Docena – This bar and grill made the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list. It has locations in Roma and Planco.
- Pasillo de Humo – Opened by chef Alam Méndez Floria, this Oaxacan restaurant features mezcal pairings.
Other agave spirits venues
- El Liquor Store – In addition to being an actual liquor and bartending supply store, this company hosts agave spirits tastings and is available for events.
- Tianguis Mezcalero – Not a bar, but rather a project dedicated to the promotion of traditional agave spirits and the families who make them. More on founder Paloma Rivera and her mezcal events and workshops.
