Puebla’s mezcal scene is growing brighter every day, which makes sense for the fourth largest city in Mexico, which happens to be in one of Mexico’s fastest growing mezcal regions–and the epicenter of the state’s mezcal tourism. Miel de Agave
This mezcaleria from Poblana chef Liz Galicia has a contemporary style, in-the-know bartenders, next level snacks, and a huge back bar of mezcal. It’s clearly the cool hipster hangout for agave spirits enthusiasts-locals and visitors alike.

El Sitio
In Puebla’s historic center, El Sitio has significant collection of mezcal, as well as other Mexican craft spirits. The bar, which has a fun ambiance, also serves craft beer and botanas.

- Destilado Urbano – A highly stylized cantina with a lot of commercial brands and a few good options of artisanal mezcal from Puebla. Address: C. 6 Sur 304, Puebla, Pue.
- Bar Mayahuel – The bar at the Marqués Del Angel Hotel has a surprisingly knowledgeable bartender and interesting mezcals. Address: Av 5 Pte 332 Puebla, Pue.
- Salon Mezcalli – Also from chef Liz Galicia, this upscale restaurant and mezcal bar has a an airy setting and knowledgeable bartenders. Address: Calle 3 Ote. 610 Puebla, Pue.
- Comal – A restaurant right near the plaza, with a terrace, great prices, and a solid mezcal selection. Address: C. 16 de Septiembre 311-b, Puebla
