Guadalajara mezcal bars

Where to drink in Guadalajara? Well, you’ve got excellent options. Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and the capital of Jalisco, the state that’s home to the town of Tequila and some exciting regional mezcals–including raicilla. As such, it’s an exciting place to drink both tequila and mezcal. You’ll find a couple of the world’s best mezcal bars and tasting rooms–not to mention some interesting agave-forward cocktail bars. 

If you’re thinking about planning a melzcal-centric trip to Guadalajara, you might consider staying in Colonia Americana, where you’ll be within walking distance of the city’s most famous mezcal bar, Pare de Sufrir, and the real deal tasting room, Mezonte, both of which are projects of Pedro Jiménez, a moral compass in mezcal circles. • El Gallo Altanero made the 50 Best Bars list, and there’s nothing to quibble with about this selection. The bar definitely has a hipster vibe, but in an eclectic, interesting way.
