Jose Guardado started Mil Lumbres working with his cousin Gilberto Roldan before expanding to a proprietary vinata and local production team in 2024. The vision for the brand is for the presentation to match the quality of what’s inside, and features artisanally hand made ceramic bottles sourced from Guanajuato. Jose’s long standing small town connections means he gets access to wild agaves from private property, ensuring top quality for each unique batch. always bottled without dilution.
The Cenizo batches, up to around 200 liters for each, are known for their sweetness, and Jose recommends pairing it with walnuts and 70% dark chocolate.
