Method / Background Notes
Jose Guardado started Mil Lumbres working with his cousin Gilberto Roldan before expanding to a proprietary vinata and local production team in 2024. The vision for the brand is for the presentation to match the quality of what’s inside, and features artisanally hand made ceramic bottles sourced from Guanajuato. Jose’s long standing small town connections means he gets access to wild agaves from private property, ensuring top quality for each unique batch. always bottled without dilution.
The Lamparillo comes from a region that is more lush than the well known lamparillo from the desert-like climate of Mapimi, and has distinct flavors, making this one of the most terroir-driven expressions. Jose has started to separate the batches based on the season of production, with cold dry seasons yielding particularly flavorful batches.
